and meanwhile back at the FARM.....

I have had these little HO scale minatures for years. I was inspired by a jewelry artist that panstakingly and tiredlessly worked with these tiny little plastic people. He embedded them into epoxy and made his own bezel etc....I want to sell these and sell many. I recently found this affordable way to make and re-sell these great, fun, wacky RINGS for $10- to $14- a piece. I have a bunch of dairy cows. So if you see something here I would be happy to make a special listing for you on my etsy shop. www.jennyelkins.etsy.com

This years theme for the upcoming Indiana State Fair this August is the year of the Dairy COW. I love the fair!!!!
So FUN!!!

The MIDWEST

I have lived in INDIANA my whole life. I have never seen a tornado up close and personal. This week the weather folks talked and talked on the news about upcoming severe weather. As a child Spring storms made me nervous as a grown up Spring storms make me nervous. Today we were so thankful that this was the only thing that happened at our house. Just a little hail. Not even enough to make a ding in your car hood. (thanks goodness) Southern Indiana and other states did not have the same outcome. My heart goes out to the good people that have lost love ones and their homes.
Squeeze your kids, spouses, friends and four legged friends a little harder tonight.

What's been happenin'

I have been cleaning out my studio....and...Ive been holding onto some things thinking I would make the time and do some amazing altered ART. Welllllll, they are going to my newest space at RECLAMATIONS in SoBro. All priced around $3- so run don't walk to get these BEAUTIES! I can see the top of my 2 tables in my studio now. The poor studio is wee anyway and then it becomes a catchall. Hopefully, it will not happen anymore.
The newest items to hit www.pinpoints.etsy.com are these fun MIRRORS 2.25" with vintage images on the front. This girl was from an old Saturday Evening Post I had. They are $5.50 and come with the little black bag. Great for a little good to see you gift.
I listed a bunch more 2.25" button MAGNETS in www.pinpoints.etsy.com This one is from an old children's book. The Owl and the Pussycat. There are several images from this book in the pinpoints shop.
So, basically I have been working and enjoying it.

www.pinpoints.etsy.com

My friend Kristina Estell and I just started a new etsy shop. She lives in Minnesota and I live in Indianapolis...she was home visiting over the holidays and we brainstormed at a Barnes and Noble one afternoon...both of us wanting to collaborate. We work well together even if we are apart. So in just over a month we have launched our little button company.
Here is how our friendship began:
Jenny and Kristina met in the dusty workshop of furniture design 201 at Herron School of Art. Sharing a workbench 3 hours at a time, day after day, week after week, they soon became great class companions and realized they shared many common interests. Jenny started a successful craft business and Kristina joined the enterprise by working for her as a maker, baker and lunching partner. A great working relationship and friendship was formed. After graduation, Kristina moved away and said “good bye ” to Indiana. Through years of change, new work, travels, and adventures, Jenny and Kristina have always remained good friends. Pin Points is their long distance collaboration...a place to bring two artistic visions together once again in a unique, fun and simple set of pins. Each set reflects the distinct visual interest of each of the artists as well as “pin points” their special artistic connection.

Gift Bags

Been busy creating things from what I have. My cousin Ginny Kay (thank you) gave me a bunch of old photos and since they are "newer" than what I use for artwork I decided that I needed to make some gift bags. It started out Ed and I sitting at the kitchen table creating funny tag lines. Like Hey Madge, ... (well her panties are showing) your mandolin is showing. Ed and I work well together. But, I lost interest in about the 28th tag line. So I went on to do something else and Ed wrote about 95 of them. They are funny!!!!
I took them to my new booth space at Reclamation in SoBro.
I am destaching like MAD!!!! Collage Scrap Packs are next.
