what happens in Columbus, Ohio stays in Columbus, Ohio

It has been an unspeakable amount of time since I have done any mixed media collages.  Mostly because I have become a full time picker, lister and schlepper.  My days are filled with thrifting, driving, photographing, cropping, cleaning, packing, shipping, hauling, loading, unloading, listing and no time for making.  I miss it very much but, creative takes time.  I like quiet time, I need time where I don't have anything looming that I need to do asap.  The above is a cabinet card with I altered with a bird image, a little h2O colors and a white chalk pencil.  SIMPLE!  yes.  I enjoyed it very much.  I created it in a hotel room in Ohio while waiting for my friend Robbie to take a class.  She went to Artiscape, a sweet little art escape that has a bunch of classes, some shopping and a little entertaining.  It was a wonderful little getaway for me and Robbie was so generous to have me tag along.  It was a great relaxing weekend. and While I was away.....

I was featured by etsy in this little thing called Etsy Finds...Since I left my little part time job in the middle of Feb. I have been hitting etsy hard and I have definately been selling.  Yesterday I sold 13 items!!!!! because of this little mention of my BULL ring.  Which I can say SOLD right away.  Thank you ETSY!!!  I love you!  I love being self employed and I always encourage anyone who wants to be.
*I quit my part time job for many reasons. (disclaimer:  the folks that I worked with and for are lovely.)  I don't enjoy being employed that way anymore.  I really love working for myself and doing my own thing.  Going to work always felt like a distraction.  I finally figured this out at my age.  So, if I apply for a job or if I mention that I am going to get a job somewhere please STOP me!  Thanks in advance blog readers!

You are the Cheese to my Macaroni 2

Box Signs are BACK!

I just love this sign...it is big and makes a impact on your wall.  Lean it somewhere or add a hanger to the back.  All the signs are For Sale on the side of this blog.

Celebrate the Midwest!

A Great engagement or wedding gift!

Handmade

I have picked these goods recently and wanted to share them with you.  I love all these little handmade things...The wooden spool that still has the project attached.  This little navy something that is pictured below.  I have no idea what it is but it is well made.
This ball of thread below has 2 projects attached.  Being a PICKER I have no idea what the story is with these projects.  As CRAFTERS we all have some undone projects these have been started years ago and never finished....I am sure this was from someones estate that has either passed or can no longer live alone and may have stopped making things years ago.  I do wonder what is the story????
so sweet...I think these doilies are the thing of the past.  So delicate and well made.  We are a instant gratification people now and well we have moved on from using doilies in the way they were meant to be used.  I couldn't toss these because well, I can't toss anything and surely someone will want to use for an altered art project.  Or  on a fiber project or maybe a shadowbox....just wanted to share....of course they are in my etsy shop.
