Marine Museum VA

My nephew just graduated from OCS Officers Canidate School in Quantico, VA and while we were there to see him we went to the Marines Museum. This is the flag that was flown in Iwo Jima (the famous pose of the Marines putting up the flag). Being in Washington, DC and in VA and Maryland it really inspired me. All the history and what people went through for our freedom is amazing.

"The Art of Politics" SHOW

"The Art of Politics" Show is being held at the Lockerbie United Methodist Church as part of the Indy Fringe Festival all month long this August 2008. The church is located at the corner of New York and East streets. I organized the original show and this one too. The first was for the Libertarian Party of Marion County based on the First Amendment, FREE SPEECH. Just so happens there are many references to George Bush as well as homelessness, feeding the hungry, war, ssaving our wetlands, taxes and more. If you get a chance please go see it.

Ed's Number ONE

I am assuming that everyone knows about the little game that sits on the table at Cracker Barrel....right? Well my husband has to immediately find the game and play with it. He was left with only one peg and was so proud so I took a picture of him to share! You go ED!

dolls...dolls...dolls

Just wanted to add one more photo of my new work. I am going to try so hard to do more posts but I won't be able to until next week. Until then.................

New Work

I am addicted to using my new sewing machine even for collaging. Here is something I whipped up. I tend to make a lot of work when I am working. Right now I am getting ready to do a show in Louisville it is Ursuline Art Fair Sept. 20 & 21. www.ursulinelou.org/artfair.asp I have a couple of friends who will be there too. Robbie Moriarty and Randall Scott Hardin. Should be a really fun weekend too....always a bonus.

bad, bad blogger

This is my friend and artist Lori McDonough. She is a GREAT blogger. I am a bad, bad, bad blogger. With her encouragement I hope to be a better blogger. Lori was my guest artist last Friday during First Friday (a gallery and studio tour every first Friday of the month) here in downtown Indianapolis. We had a great time. Lori's work is so much fun I hope you will take the time to see what she is doing. I hope we will be doing more together in the future. Take a look at her blog http://www.freshpickedwhisy.typepad.com/ and her etsy store to see what she had here last week.
