Bad blogger!

It has been a month since my last blog. (Sounds like I am in a confessional) Much has happened. I had a second opening at the AV Framing Gallery in Fountain Square and it was a great success. Many people came to the opening....some who I hadn't seen in years. I was happy with my SALES. Ed and I (Lucy too) moved into a traditional 4-square. Fireplace, hardwoods, nice wood trim and a big kitchen. My studio is still in boxes but tomorrow I will begin the process of unpacking that room. Of course the day we move it snows 4 inches which takes more time and you pay the movers by the hour. The good news is that everything arrived safely. It was exhausting though I am not going to sugar coat it. Lucy bassett loves that she has a yard again and at times we have had a hard time getting her in when we are on our way out. There have been lots of distractions along the way this month. The biggest one was my guy (Ed) had to be hospitalized for a week (which happens alot). I hate it for him and well for me too. Even the dog is sad when he is gone from home. He is on the mend. I have a good feeling about this year. I have been selling some stuff at several places around town, vintage on etsy and even clothes at a consignment store. My next event is in Louisville KY at Robbie Moriarty's store on April 23rd. If you are in the area please stop by. I promise I will blog more.....just had to settle in.

Moving DAY 2010

Don't get this confused with 2009. Yes we are moving we moved last year on Feb. 11th and this year we started moving yesterday Feb. 13th. Lonnnnnnnnnng story but hopefully at some point there will be a happy ending. SO....we are unable to get our phones and Internet hooked up until this coming Thursday. There is also a problem with not having phone jacks in the house so hope fully I will not be off line too long as I have become so very accustomed to communicating via email etc.

I have been a listing fool today. I have way to many little piles around the house. A pile of things to list, one to photograph, one to ship and one that I am not sure I want to part with yet. I also have a lot of handmade items that I am discounting and will be slowly listing. My wishes for etsy is that they add a shipping calculator and something that would help you to do a duplicate listing without having to most of it from scratch. Haiti by Hand

The world of Blogs is so interesting. You may find someone's blog you like and then it takes you to someone else's blog and then on and on. Not so long ago I decided I needed some fresh blogs to read and inspire me and I ran across http://www.rebeccasower.typedpad.com/ blog. She is a great artist who has ties to Haiti. You will have to go to her blog and read all about it. Since the earthquake, she has started another blog http://www.haitibyhand.typepad.com/ and a etsy store http://www.haitibyhand.etsy.com/ where you can purchase something made by hand and the monies go to help HAITI a win win for everyone. She has started a yarn drive, craft supply drive and a quilt drive.

Today she wrote how we are not hearing about HAITI as much. That they are still having aftershocks and there is so much to be done still.

The forecast was a downer a snow storm was rolling in and the word is out STAY home. I was talking to someone earlier in the day and told them I had an art opening tonight and she said "The art crowd are HARDY". So, I packed my camera and decided I would take a picture of everyone who dared to come out on this overwhelmingly beautiful night. I guess by the time I took this we had over 5 inches of snow. Now, more has fallen and blown. Secretly I am a snow girl. I love it! I love how I have to beg our little Lucy Bassett to come in and once in she is so excited. Runs all over the place. Quitling Bee

In my upcoming show "Strumpets and Squares" I am introducing some quilted wall hangings. I am a frustrated seamstress. I go to sit down and sew and end up with a horrible bobbin jam or a big chunk of fabric gets stuck and I end up putting a big hole in it. I am also too much of a "free spirit" to do major detailed sewing. Measure twice cut once!
I have an altered ART friend Joanie who is a master quilter! How blessed am I. She can whip a project into shape in no time. I had an idea of how it should all go together but really no clue as what I should use or how to go about it. I am sooooooo thankful for her help.

Shaun came by with Ashie (Im sure I spelled her name wrong) she is a big SWEETIE. Shaun is sweet too.

re: Vintage Across Indiana Episode 1307

New work for the Upcoming show at AV Framing Gallery First Friday in February.

Okay Okay Okay.....back in 2002 I was on a PBS special along with Norman Bridwell and Bill Blass (both Hoosiers) and they have re-run it several times since it first aired 7 almost 8 years ago.....But, this week it has been playing and I have been hearing from a lot of people that they have seen it. Frist of all I am 7-8 years younger and smaller and I no longer make the work that they featured. I have evolved and moved on to my new work. So if you have stumbled on this blog this is what I have become and thank you for taking a looksie. Feel free to leave a comment.

I have decided to take this time to share a love story since we are coming upon Feb. which is the month of LOVE. I have been married 6.5 years to Mr. Angleton and the love story starts on 11/23/2002 just 5 days after my episode aired. We met online and were chatting but had not met....I told him this was coming on and he tuned in....he knew way more about me including the fact that I talk out of one side of my mouth when I am nervous. Our first meeting was at Borders bookstore and he was sooooo SHY and I had to pull every word out of him...3 dates later me told a joke and made me laugh and 6 months later we got married. So when I think of this little show on PBS it reminds me of how things all came together with Ed and I. He also thought it was kinda cool that I was on TV little did he know he would have his five minutes of FAME when he was on Jeopardy for 3 episodes!!!!
