Todays project is finishing up the last 12 vintage tapestry bags for the upcoming show. (they are big tote bags) I love these bags....I use old belts, vintage tapestries, scraps of leather and vintage buttons. They are priced $78- each. I have a bunch to sell so let me know if you want to purchase and I will upload more photos.

Bad Bad Bad Blogger

I have been a terrible Blogger. Lori McDonough is doing a great job at keeping her blog updated. She is working on illustrations for a book right now and she is a buys mom. I have a dog and can't seem to update my blog. I am going to list her as a favorite blog check her out.

The piece on the right says "Eats Crackers in Bed" it is 11" x 11" square and is FOR SALE $125-. So if you are interested don't be shy. She needs a good home. The piece on the left says "Hates Cats" same price, size and also needs a good home. These are currently being hung at Deano's Vino's in Fountain Square through March.

I have just returned from Midland Arts and Antiques where I put more mixed media collage originals in my booth. If you are in the Dowtown Indianapolis Area check it out.

Ed and I will be meeting friends at Deano's tonight to celebrate St. Patricks Day. Get on your green and celebrate with us.

It is almost CHRISTMAS!

Hard to believe it is almost that time of the year again. It has been a hard month. Looking forward to some good things happening in 2008.

My booth at Midland Arts and Antiques is doing fairly well. Again it is a great space in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.

I am meeting my very fun to be with friend, Robbie from Louisville, KY in Columbus, Indiana. It will be a fun day. I am always inspired by our time together. Well better get going I have abunch to do.

Go with the FLOW.....

Well I was so charged up to work after my friend was here the weekend before Thanksgiving....Needless to say that didn't happen. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow. My husband has a chronic illness and we spent Thanksgiving night in the ER and the 6 days following in room 6078W at Methodist Hospital. He is use to his illness and after 4 and 1/2 years of I am trying to learn to live with it. It is not easy.

I did manage to sell a couple of items on etsy www.jennyelkins.etsy.com and my great friend Kristina Estell who was in town from Duluth, MN worked my flea market booth along with her mom Kathy and mine. GIRL POWER! I am not sure how I would of made it through the weekend without them.

Today I am going to Midland Arts and Antiques, the best kept secret in Indpls, to check out a booth to rent. I have done it for years and took a 2 year break. If you are ever in town this is a must see.

I am turning over a new LEAF

It has been so long since I have checked on my blog. So many people have joined in the blog phenom and I am ignoring mine. Since I have written my nephew came home safe and sound from Iraq. Thank God. Ed and I had a property tax shock here in Indianapolis and have been protesting in the streets to make changes to the local government and to hopefully make a change in how property tax is computed etc in the state of Indiana. In the process Ed has become a blogger and a Libertarian. We have listed our charming 1893 Victorian Cottage for SALE and are waiting for the perfect buyer to leave it in their hands to make improvements and maintain. It has really made me very aware that you really never own anything. We want to live below our means. In doing so I hope that I can focus more on my work that I have continued to do since closing my shop (that I miss greatly) but not with any regularity which is my own fault with focus.

This weekend my dear friend Robbie Moriarty http://www.robbiemoriartyart.com/ came for the Winterfair show and talk about inspiration. I am ready to create. Thanks Robbie for the pep talk!

My goal is to start doing Illustration Fridays and to get my body of work ready to apply for art fairs in 2008. Enough info for this entry.
